McDonald was a Glasgow silversmith described as a watchcase maker; working dates 1783-1825. A McL. 1823. Butter knife. Possibly Alexander McLeod of Inverness, but he is noted by the Edinburgh Incorporation of Goldsmiths as only sending work for assay between 1837 and 1839; working dates in Inverness 1827-1859. A McL.
