Nov 28, 2013 · jeweler adds rcov as a default dependency in gems created. This should be replaced with simplecov for Ruby 1.9+ ( Another issue which is open : #189) .I think jeweler should stop supporting Ruby 1.8 and I'll make sure rcov is gone when we take this up. As a workaround, replace rcov with simplecov in the Gemfile of the gem that you just created.

Apr 08, 2009 · Being DRY is a concept I try to embrace as a programmer. Lately when creating new gems, I’ve noticed that I copy, paste and tweak the same boilerplate gemspecs/Rakefiles. Fed up with this non-DRY gem configuration, I came up with a gemspec config file solution.With this yaml config file and some thor tasks, I’m able to generate gem specifications for any of my gems.
