Jan 20, 2019 · I cleaned them up and soldered on posts. To allow the posts to have a strong solder join I used a 0.8mm drill bit to make a small dent for the post to sit in. I then began to make my hoop earrings. I cut the relevant sections off my castings and cleaned up the sawblade marks. I made a ball on the end of 0.8mm silver wire and hammered it flat.

May 18, 2019 · Third clean up (earrings) Straight after casting. The clean up for these earrings was easy, I mostly used buff sticks and buff paper wrapped around a needle file. I also soldered on a jump ring to attach to the chain and this was fairly simple also. I bought 3mm round wire, cut off two equal strips about 2mm in depth and soldered on earring posts.
