Jul 21, 2015 · Re: Best Canon Lens for Jewelry and Diamonds. In reply to impression• Jul 20, 2015. sharpness should not be a problem you'l pretty much always be shooting above f/5.6. on your t3i, the 100mm will work out to 160mm which is 20mm wider than the 180 on full frame. the 180mm on the t3i is the equivalent of 288mm. that's pretty long for macro. but either will work. also, with macro its just as much of the lighting than the lens.

Aug 11, 2018 · Macro Lenses for Jewelry Photography. I use the Nikon 105mm macro lens – I recommend it. If you use Canon, then the equivalent lens is the 100mm macro. Both these lenses give you enough zoom to get large images of tiny items. I’ve photographed tiny nose rings that are less than half an inch long using the 105mm lens.

A 24mm lens, even with an f/1.4 aperture, is not going to get the job done here. The list of nominees for this award is quite long, including favorites such as the Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L II , Canon EF 135mm f/2L, and Canon EF 200mm f/2L IS lenses. While these are excellent choices, the longer focal lengths still rule for maximum background blur.

The Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L II is among Canon’s most popular pro lenses ever and is a favourite for both amateur and professional Canon dSLR camera owners the world over. There’s an f/4 version too, but the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L II is much better. It’s also even sharper than the Nikon equivalent.
